The Trails of the Grand Prairie – Friends of the KRT was established to promote and expand Rail Trails in East Central Illinois, to increase their use and enjoyment, and support and assist communities and organizations in developing trail infrastructure and amenities. Included in the organizations supported by our organization are: The Champaign County Forest Preserve District, Urbana Park District, Vermilion County Conservation District, the City of Danville, the City of Urbana, the City of Champaign, the Champaign Park District, the villages along the trails: Mayview, St. Joseph, Ogden, Fithian, Muncie, Oakwood, Seymour, White Heath, Lodge, Monticello, Deland and Weldon. We believe in the development of trails and their positive environmental, economic, health, and quality of life impacts.
